Former Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba says Black Stars B goalkeeper Joseph Addo should be the number one for the national team proper.

Joseph Addo excelled at the just ended West Africa Football Union championship after conceding just two goals enroute to winning the tournament.

Ghana beat Nigeria 4-1 in the final.

The former Ghana under-17 goalkeeper has been the number one for Aduana as they top the table in the Ghana Premier and has been outstanding throughout the season.

And Damba wants the inform goalkeeper to walk into the team as the number one.

“Personally and in my candid opinion I think Joseph Addo should be the number one goalkeeper for the Black Stars proper,” he told Kasapa FM.

“His performance was incredible and I see him to be the perfect goalkeeper for the Black Stars.

“If you looks at his performance at the WAFU tournament then definitely he should be the number one, his reactions in post and composure is just wonderful.”

Joseph Addo will have to compete with former Wa All Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori for the position.

Ofori has also been on a run of good form after manning the post for Maritzburg United in South Africa in the last two games.
