Goalkeeper Owusu Banahene explains why he has named his son after deputy speaker of Parliament

Owusu Banahene, a former goalkeeper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko has named his son after the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu.

In an interview, he has explained that the move is to honour the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bekwai constituency for how he has helped him during his career.

“The Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu has done a lot for me and my family and this is just a way of saying thank you to him.

“He has done brilliantly as an MP for his enviable track record as well. He has really helped me in my career”, Owusu Banahene said in an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com.

The goalkeeper who is married to Hannah Agyeiwaa welcomed a newborn baby boy a few months ago and decided to name him Joeseth Osei-Owusu after the lawmaker.

Besides Asante Kotoko, Owusu Banahene has played for Brazilian outfit Aparacidens, South Africa club FC AK, as well as Central Coast Mariners in Australia.
