Former Accra Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram insists captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan must shift his attention to winning the Africa Cup of Nation.

The country has been starved of a major trophy since 1982 when the Black Stars won its fourth title.

The Black Stars have come close in the recent editions having been to the finals twice, in 2010 and 2015 and making it to the semifinals six consecutive times.

Godwin Attram who was present at the unveiling of the Asamoah Gyan astro turf at the Accra Academy senior high school said the captain shouldmake winning AFCON a priority.

"He is a very good player but needs to focus in order to win the nations cup with the support of the talented Black Stars' players," he stated.

"It might not be Gyan's priority but I believe that it is the only thing Ghanaians are expecting from the captain."

The former Ghana player played in an exhibition game used to unveil the pitch where he scored a brilliant freekick.

Attram asked other footballers to engage in more works like what Gyan has done.
