GoldStars congratulate goalkeepers’ trainer for helping Ghana lift UEFA U16 Development Tournament

Ghana Premier League side Bibiani GoldStars have congratulated goalkeepers’ trainer Jerry Agyei Asare for helping Ghana win the 2023 U16 UEFA Development Tournament in Serbia.

The Black Starlets emerged champions after winning all their three games at the competition, beating host nation Switzerland 4-0 in the opening match before edging Spain 3-2 in their second game.

Abdul Karim Zito’s side them beat Switzerland by a narrow 3-2 scoreline to on Tuesday to emerge winners.

The Black Starlets scored 10 goals and conceded four in three games, ending the Spain game with nine men.

“Our goalkeepers' coach Jerry Agyei Asare was part of the Black Starlets team that won the 2023 UEFA U-16 Development Tournament in Serbia,” the club said on Twitter.

“We're proud of you and the entire team. Congratulations to you, Coach Jerry.”

Ghanaians have also hailed the team for their performance in the tournament, with a lot of people crediting Laryear Kingston for the football played there.
