Good news for Kotoko as Maxwell Baako returns from injury

Kotoko has been given a major boost going into their matches against Obuasi Ashanti Gold, Hearts of Oak and Etoile du Sahel following the return of exciting winger Maxwell Baako.

The playmaker has been sidelined for the past five months after picking an injury back in March of this year.

Having nursed the injury for close to five months, the attacker has now confirmed that he has been declared fit to feature in matches depending on the plans of head coach Kjetil Zachariassen.

Speaking in an interview with Finder Sports in Kumasi, Maxwell Baako shared, “I want to thank God for helping me in my recovery because being injured for six months isn’t easy. It was a frustrating process but now I have started training again and I am gaining some momentum. At this moment I can say my fitness level is okay”.

He added, “My doctor has given me the permission to join the first team, he is even positive that I can play but he has cautioned me to be a bit careful to prevent a relapse. I am an aggressive person so I need to take my time and be fully ready and I will be ready soon”.

The player was an integral part of the Kotoko team that enjoyed a successful campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup last season where they managed to reach the group stage of the inter-club competition.

Having returned from a long injury, he is already looking forward to playing a role for the side when they take on Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Champions League second round tie next month.
