Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Opoku has credited his hard work for his impressive performance in Los Angeles FC's MLS season opener against Portland Timbers on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Opoku highlighted his mindset going into the game and his determination to help the team secure a win.
He said, "For me, my mindset was to do good, to perform well, to help the team to win. When you work hard, all the good things will come to you."
Opoku played a key role in the victory, winning a penalty that led to Carlos Vela's goal and scoring the winning goal himself.
LAFC took a 3-0 lead before Portland Timbers scored twice in the last 30 minutes to reduce the deficit.
Opoku expressed his satisfaction with his performance, saying, "It was an amazing feeling, my mindset was really tough."
The forward will look to build on his impressive start to the season when Los Angeles FC take on Alajuelense in the CONCACAF Champions League knockout stage.
