GOTTI: "I CAN'T BE HAPPY ABOUT CONCEDING FOUR GOALS"

Published on: 03 December 2021

Luca Gotti spoke to Udinese TV after a remarkable contest against Lazio. “A coach can’t be happy when the team concedes four goals and loses a two-goal lead to fall behind. The goal to equalise at the end show the character and bravery in this team in this situation to come here to the Olimpico and play a game that we prepared well for.

“All the players were committed to implementing what we’d worked on, which is a key aspect.

“It’s obvious that I’m trying to move the team in a direction that is designed to get the best out of the squad at present. We need to find and keep the right balance in the team, which allows you to manage games better, such as at the start of the second half.

“We have to strike a balance so that we can defuse situations and we have to improve the quality of our passing.

“We dropped off a few metres in the second aim with the aim of being compact outside our box and leaving space for our players to exploit, but we then conceded two goals. It was a game of ups and downs.”
