Winger Jonah Attuquaye scored with a magnificent strike on Wednesday evening to seal a 2-1 comeback win for Legon Cities FC in the game against Liberty Professionals.
The Royals hosted the Scientific Soccer lads at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Matchday 24 fixture of the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Despite both teams displaying impressive form in the first half, neither side could equalize and hence went into the break on level pegging.
In the pulsating encounter that ensued in the second half, Kweku Karikari equalized in the 80th minute to shoot Liberty a Professionals into the lead.
Pegged behind, the players of Legon Cities FC stepped up to come from behind to earn the maximum three points.
First an own goal from Evans Owusu in the 85th minute restored parity for the home team before poster boy Jonah Attuquaye scored with a stunning strike in added time to wrap up a crucial 2-1 win for Legon Cities FC.
The win keeps the Royals out of the relegation zone for now while Liberty drop into the red zone.
