The clash between Ashanti Gold SC and Asante Kotoko scheduled to be played on Thursday, May 19, 2022, has been postponed.

This has been announced by the Ghana Football Association in a statement released on its website on Wednesday night.

Following that statement, Asante Kotoko has also issued a release on its Twitter page to confirm to fans that the clash has been postponed.

According to the release from the Porcupine Warriors, the game is off the table because of security reasons.

“Our Game against Ashgold slated for tomorrow has been called off by the Ghana Football Association due to security reasons. Unfortunately, the team arrived in Obuasi Wednesday afternoon ahead of the game on Thursday,” a post on the Twitter page of Asante Kotoko has said.

Asante Kotoko remains top of the Ghana Premier League table and now has a game in hand.

For Ashanti Gold SC, the team has been demoted to the Division Two League after it was found guilty of match manipulation by the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA.
