Graeme Le Saux Waxes Lyrical Over Liverpool Winger's Masterful Performance Against West Brom

Published on: 21 October 2016

Chelsea legend Graeme Le Saux has been around the game a while, and he's probably not an easy man to impress.

So Liverpool and England winger Adam Lallana must know that he's onto something having earned the former attacker's praise.

Lallana has returned from injury, and was started against West Bromwich Albion by Jurgen Klopp on Saturday. The 28-year-old put in a brilliant performance before he was taken off by the manager 11 minutes from the final whistle

"He [Lallana] has been exceptional this evening," Le Saux said after the player was subbed off."He's so hard-working for the team, and it's a prudent decision to take him off as he's still recovering from injury."

Lallana made his 100th appearance for the Reds in this match against West Brom, and is doing very well under Klopp this season. The club spent £25m when they took him from Southampton in the summer of 2014, and after a slow start to life at Anfield, he is certainly changing opinions around the place.

Klopp, for one, rates Lallana quite highly and believes that the attacker is a very important part of his set-up.

He's a very good footballer, very important for us," hesaid to theEcho. "In my opinion his development is not that big because I didn't watch the games before I came. But since I'm here he's on a constant high level, said the boss.

He brings a lot of his qualities to the team ¦ it's all good with Adam.

When he was very young he was already captain of Southampton, so that says a lot about him. He's a smart boy and now at an age where experience helps you more and more if you are smart enough. That's what he uses. He's a real Liverpool player, loves this club."
