Great Olympics striker Abel Manomey to have surgery this week

Accra Great Olympics striker Abel Manomey will undergo a surgery this week after breaking his leg in training.

The striker who has been influential for the wonder club this season suffered the injury in a training match last week which ruled him out of the Wa All Stars game.

The former Hearts of Oak striker had a good start to the season scoring five times in the first round despite injury troubles.

He returned after a lengthy lay off in the second round but suffered another injury blow.

Manomey confirmed on Accra based Radio Station Happy FM he is due to undergo surgery this week and hopes to be back in time before the end of the season.

“On Wednesday we were having a training match when I got injured, I broke my tibia and fibula bone but I am recovering gradually. I am hoping to have a surgery this week,” he told Happy FM.

“I will have a review tomorrow and by the end of this week I will have a surgery done.”

The graduate from the University of Education hopes to have a successful surgery so he can make a quick return to action.
