Ahead of the resumption of continental competitions, CAF has organized an online workshop on Club Licensing and Stadia from 29 September to 1 October 2020 to discuss with stakeholders the key elements in the organization of the game in the next couple of months.

Held via video-conference, the workshop brought together General Secretaries and Club Licensing Managers of Member Associations to exchange ideas and share knowledge towards the development of the game on the continent.

CAF Deputy General Secretary Anthony Baffoe described the workshop as “a very important step” for the restart of competitions, after months of no activity due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We want to help our Member Associations’ with the implementation and development of the system. Club Licensing is mandatory, and CAF will supervise the implementation process.

“We have just started a league development project with the support of UEFA Assist Program to help develop our clubs and league. I encourage you to work and exchange knowledge together,” Baffoe added.

The participants were also informed and taken through the new CAF Club Licensing Online Platform to be launched in January 2021, for the effective management and supervision of the Club Licensing System.

An update of the Stadium Inspection exercise launched last February was presented to the MA’s whilst highlighting on the importance of having standardized match venues for the safety and security of all stakeholders.
