Football Federation of Guinea Bissau President, Lopes Nascimento Manuel has reiterated the desire to meet Ghana in the upcoming 2017 Total African Cup draw, according to George Afriyie.

Les Djurtus (The wild dogs) will be making their first appearance at the biennial tournament in Gabon after qualifying ahead of Congo, Zambia and Kenya with 10 points from 5 matches.

And as the groups for the tournament will be held today in Libreville, the vice president of the Ghana football Association, George Afriyie has revealed how the Guinea Bissau team is eager to play the Black Stars.

“Lopes Nascimento Manuel met us yesterday and we were shocked at his revelation that we are one of the countries they’re itching to meet,” says George Afriyie.

“He said it will be a day of celebration for them to drawn in the same group with us and the icing on the cake for them will be to beat us. We were not shocked at all because we know in these kind of competition there’re no comfortable draws.”

Guinea Bissau’s shock qualification for their first Africa Cup of Nations was cast in doubt in the wake of their 3-2 over Zambia for fielding goalkeeper Pape Massa Mbaye Fall, who they deemed ineligible because of his country of birth.
