Gyan fails to score in SIPG draw

Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan was unable to add to his three goals this season as his Shanghai SIPG side were held to a 1-1 draw by Changchun Yatai at home yesterday in the Chinese Super League.

Gyan lasted 68 minutes during the clash before he was replaced by Ivorian youngster, Jean Kouassi in the 68th minute.

SIPG took the lead in the 45th minute when Brazilian schemer Elkeson Cardoso laid-on an assist for Wu Lei to score.

However, they were the architects of their own downfall when they conceded an unfortunate own goal through Yan Junling in the 71st minute.

SIPG slip to fifth place in the Chinese Super League and are without victory in their last three matches.
