Wa All Stars captain Hafiz Adams has urged football fans in the country to always accept the outcome of football matches to prevent recurrence of the May 9 disaster.

The inspirational skipper for the reigning champions echoed the need for collective responsibility as a way of arresting football hooliganism.

Today marks the 16th anniversary of that fatal May 9 disaster that saw over 120 football fans perished at the Accra Stadium.

“The best we can do to avoid such recurrence is to accept the outcome of the game as it is. We just have to let the referees outcome rule because if we react we might later regret it’s consequences," said Hafiz

“The best we can do as football family is to picture how they walked lovely and happily to the stadium only to be carried in groups as dead fans. If we remember that we can avoid such acts in the future.

“It is a challenge to the football family and to solve it we just have to let the neutrals fall in love with the game”, Hafiz Adams told Sports Crusader exclusively.
