Harry Redknapp Insists That Liverpool Can 'Absolutely' Win the Premier League Title

Published on: 04 October 2016

Former Spurs and QPR manager Harry Redknapp has said that he believes Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season, although he is a bit worried about their defensive solidity.

The Reds are flying in the league this term, and have bounced back from their early-season loss against Burnley to race to fourth spot, just two points adrift of league-leading Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp has done a swell job at the club, and almost all of their players are performing at peak level; more so James Milner, Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana (prior to his recent injury).

Many have them downto finally win the title this season, and they are doing very little to suggest otherwise. Klopp has made the atmosphere a lot better, and is turning his group into world beaters.

They do have minor issues at the back - something Milner is working quite hard to remedy -but they have been making up for that on the offensive end with a blistering attack and fine form in front of goal.

Joining the hosts of theDrive Show ontalkSPORTon Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, October 3, 2016), Redknapp was asked if he thought that the Reds could win the big one this season.

"Absolutely," was his response. They have got outstanding players. I just wonder if defensively they are quite strong enough.

Liverpool's mettle will be tested when they face Manchester United after the international break. They will also be hosting the so-far unbeatensecond-placed Spurs two games later.
