Hassan Shehata confided in me about the Black Stars coaching job-says assistant Moudy Fouad

Moudy Fouad, right hand man for Hassan Shehata has revealed that his boss has reiterated a great desire to take up the coaching reins of the Black Stars.

The Black Stars have been under immense pressure lately following their five-winless run, which included a 2-0 defeat in the 2018 World Cup to Egypt who are deemed to be the team’s closest rivals in the group. This poor form has prompted reactions from many football pundits to call for the head of coach Avram Grant.

Fouad said, Hassan Shehata confided in him about his motivation to take up the Black Stars’ coaching role because he believes the Black Stars have the right crop of players to become a top team on the continent again .

“Shehata have told me about his willingness to take up the Black Stars job because he is very motivated to return the team to the echelons of African football. I believe he can do it due to track record and the ambition he showed during his time with the Egyptian team.”

“He is ready to give youngsters chance and blend them with the experience players. Ghana have a lot of experience players in Europe that Shehata monitors, players from Greece, France, Italy, England and even in Austria. He’s willing to prepare the team within one month to win the African cup, the benefit of it when appointed is because he knows all the teams that Ghana are drawn in the group with. He has adequate information about the Egyptian team, same as Mali and Uganda.”

Hassan Shehata led the Pharaohs of Egypt to win three successive African Nations Cups (2006, 2008 and 2010) and was awarded the CAF Coach of the Year in 2008.
