He is failing to listen - Hearts of Oak fans explain why they chased out Slavko Matic

Hearts of Oak fans have justified their action after attacking and heckling head coach of the side, Slavko Matic.

Some irate fans on Friday prevented the Serbian manager from holding training with the playing body ahead of their matchday 20 clash with sworn rivals, Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

According to the fans, the 43-year-old is not good enough to lead the side having suffered back-to-back defeats against Aduana Stars and Great Olympics.

Despite the actions of fans being condemned by many, the spokesperson for the National Chapters Committee of the club, Kobby Jones says they prevented the manager from holding training because he is failing to listen.

"Indeed the coach came and we said no, we won't allow him to train. He tried to explain things to us but we said no, so he had to leave," he said in an interview.

"The complaints are too much. Since he came in he has let many good players leave and he doesn't want to take in players we suggest to him. He wants players to come and do justify," he added.

The Super Clash which is scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium will also serve as the 2023 President's Cup.

Kick-off is at 15:00GMT.

Matić has, however, filed a complaint with the Ghana Police Service on Friday after the attack by the fans.
