HEARTS 1-0 KARELA: Am pleased for the players – Kim Grant

Head Coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kim Grant has expressed that he is pleased with the performance of his players following their 1-0 win over Karela United in the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The Phobians recorded an important victory over the Anyinase based side at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, courtesy a penalty kick converted by defender Christopher Bonney in the second half.

Speaking in a post-match interview with GTV, Kim Grant praised the players for putting up a good performance to help the team to win the match whiles keeping a clean sheet. According to him, his lads were solid on the day and is looking forward to seeing more in their subsequent matches.

“Overall am really pleased because it was very solid (the performance). We did well against Dwarfs but today we came here and I knew that if we kept a clean sheet we will get the chance and obviously we had a couple of chances and we put them away”, Kim Grant said.

He continued, “Am really pleased for the boys because they have worked extremely hard. Am delighted and I look forward to the next games”.

The win over Karela means the Rainbow boys have qualified to the next phase of the NC Special Competition, making them the first team to have achieved that feat across Premier A and B.
