Accra Hearts of Oak Captain Thomas Abbey is unhappy with the manner of their defeat to Bechem United in the Match Day 21 of the Ghana Premier league but he is hopeful the Phobians can win the League.

The Rainbow team were beaten 1-0 by Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Park after Ahmed Toure had converted from the spot.

According to the winger, the penalty awarded their host was a dubious penalty leading to an unfair outcome.

“This defeat was a painful one, we played the game up to the time we thought we could get something out. But the referee awarded a dubious penalty which gifted Bechem United all three points,” he said after the game.

Hearts of Oak have dropped to the fourth position after the defeat and are still eight points adrift of leaders WAFA who have a game in hand but Thomas Abbey is refusing to give upon the title.

“We have nine matches to go, we will concentrate on each match we play, we not necessarily thinking about the trophy but focused on getting more points and hopefully we can get the maximum tally of points.”

The phobians will next travel to Kumasi to face arch rivals Asante Kotoko who are on a good run of form.
