Hearts Captain Thomas Abbey sets sight on goal king award

Accra Hearts of Captain Thomas Abbey has set his sights on the golden boot after scoring a brace in the club’s 3-1 win over Tema Youth on Sunday.

The winger has been on sensational form scoring twelve goals and providing four assists putting him in a position of winning the Most Valuable Player of the season.

The player finished Sunday’s game as man of the match and he told Kumasi based radio station Metro FM of his intentions of winning the goal king.

"I'm ready to win the goal king award," Abbey told Kumasi-based Metro FM

"I have been scoring and my teammates deserve all the praise for their support,"

"I want to score more to win the award but I have not targeted the number of goals I want to end the season with.''

Abbey’s performances has propelled the Phobians to third position and are chasing the title after nine years without winning it.

Hearts will next face Accra Great of Olympics in the match day 25.
