Accra Hearts of Oak's reliable left back, William Denkyi is in contention to play against Liberty Professionals later today after recovering from an injury he suffered in their previous match against West Africa Football Academy (WAFA).

The young defender sustained a knock when his side demolished the Sogakope side by four goals to nothing at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday. Though Rady Ovouka who replaced him at his position played perfectly well, Denkyi still remains the first choice for Head Coach Kim Grant.

Ahead of the Regional derby later this afternoon, footballghana.com can confirmed that the defender has been passed fit by the medical team and is likely to play against Liberty if picked by coach Kim Grant.

The players impressive run in the NC Special Competition is however expected to compel his gaffer to include him in his starting lineup.

The Phobians currently sit on top of the Premier B standings having amassed a total of 8 points from 9 matches. If they are able to win today, they will be one step closer to qualifying from their zone which has the potential of making them eligible to represent Ghana in CAF’s Inter-Club competitions.
