Hearts of Oak fire Portuguese coach Traguil, Yaw Preko takes over as interim coach

The 2000 African Champions Accra Hearts of Oak have parted ways with head coach Sérgio Traguil just two months after his appointment due to recent poor run of form.

The Phobians seek to end their long-wait for a Premier League crown with success this season after beginning the campaign on the high but have unfortunately fallen to 4th on the league log with 3 games to go.

Hearts under the Tutelage of Japanese trainer Kenichi, stormed the league with an impressive away record and were tagged as tough contenders but parted ways with him before the second round of the league.

Sergio Traguil was however appointed to continue and lead Hearts to glory but has so far flattered to deceive after struggling to win in any of his last 7 league games.

Footballghana.com now understands that assistant coach Yaw Preko has been handed the role in an interim capacity pending the appointment of a substantive trainer with just three games to end the season.

Sergio Traguil who was originally employed to take charge of the Junior side of the Phobians Auroras, was asked to return to Auroras but rejected the move and decided to part ways.

Hearts chances of winning their first Premier League title in seven years is fast fading as they lie fourth on the table, sixth points adrift of leaders Wa All Stars with only three games left to spare.
