Hearts of Oak is not in crises, insists Odotei

Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Vincent Odotei says the delay in the club’s preseason training is as a result of advice given to them by interim coach of the club Yaw Preko.

As clubs gear up in preseason for the upcoming Ghana Premier League, fans of Hearts of Oak are left frustrated because their darling club is yet to announce the date for their routine preseason workout with barely two months to the start of the Ghana Premier League after the governing body of the league Premier League Board (PLB) released the commencement date for the competition.

However, the much-despise managing director of the club, Vincent Odotei has revealed that the board is acting on the advice of coach Yaw Preko because of bonuses owed to the playing body.

“Hearts of Oak is not in crises as some people perceive,” Vincent Odotei told Kessben FM.

“Our decision to delay the preseason was based on the dialogue we had with Yaw Preko, in which he told us to pay the bonuses we owe the players from last season before we start on a fresh page because it will best serve the club to clear those arrears for a smooth season.”

“We’re confident we can work something out as early as possible to start preseason soon, but to talk crises, I think it’s far from that.”

The starting date of the league is 18th December, 2016.
