Hearts of Oak supporters chief warns two board members off team

Accra Hearts of Oak’s National Chapters Committee (NCC) spokesperson, Paa Kofi Sunsum has echoed the agitation of the club’s supporters in calling for Vincent Odotei and Alhaji Brimah Akanbi to stay off the club.

The various supporters union of the club met at the club’s secretariat on Saturday to discuss the cause of their ailing and how the club can recapture its glory days after being in the wilderness for the past six years without league success.

Hearts of Oak started this season’s Premier league in an impressive fashion under Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi, but was sacked due to alleged impasse between him and general manager of the club, Vincent Odotei for failing to report to management meetings after every match day and since the club disengaged their services with him, their form has drastically dipped in the run to their league title quest and this activated the supporters to question the capability of the two club board members.

And with the unfortunate trend the club has taken, Kofi Sunsum believes the club will be best served if Vincent Sowah Odotei and fellow board member, Alhaji Akanbi can vacate their positions as they are deemed to have let advocates of the club down with their decision making.

In an exclusive interview with Happy FM’S Anopa Bosuo, the outspoken Kofi Sunsum declared, “In the aftermath of our meeting on Saturday, we came to a conclusion of letting Vincent Odotei and Akanbi know that we the supporters are not happy with their work and therefore they should just leave our beloved club. I don’t know their work on our Hearts’ board. How can a coach who is doing so well for the club be sacked and replaced with someone who doesn’t know anything about football.”

“Their incapability came to the fore when they refused to replace coach Kenichi with Yaw Preko immediately after all the protest we did and instead went in for Sergio Traguil. And now that our season is already derailed they’ve gone for the same coach you declined when we the supporters knew he could be the perfect replacement for Kenichi. The only thing we want from Odotei is to forget about Hearts of Oak, we simply don’t want him and Akambi anywhere near the club, period.”
