Hearts of Oak defender Larry Sumaila Ibrahim has talked lately about his source of inspiration, the player who has always an example and an idol him.

Ibrahim, who joined the Phobians prior to the start of the  GFA Normalisation Committee Special competition hopes to emulate former Hearts captain Amankwah Mireku.

Mireku led the Accra-based side to win the 2004 Caf  Confederation Cup after defeating arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on penalty shootouts.

"Amankwah Mireku is my idol. Although my style of play is not a reminiscence of his, I really adore him."

"He is a fresh breath of fresh air, a dynamic figure who makes an immediate impact with his spiky personality. I'm not surprised that he excelled as the captain of the club," he told kickgh.com

"He went through strings of frustrating injuries and difficult times in his career but as soon he makes a return to the pitch, he reminds everyone of his quality. I think he was one of the best in his generation."

The 22-year-old has previously played for Greek giants PAOK.
