Accra Hearts of Oak has announced that they have parted ways with midfield enforcer Malik Akowuah after spending three years with the club.

Akowuah joined the Phobians from Medeama in 2016 in a bumper deal but has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded his transfer.

Though very experienced, he failed to convince new boss Kim Grant after he took over as manager and that resulted in him playing a minimal role for the Rainbow boys during their campaign in the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

In a post on Hearts of Oak’s official Twitter handle today, they have confirmed that the player is leaving the club because they will not renew his contract.
