Over the weekend, the capital-based club hosted Samartex FC in a Week 6 encounter of the 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

Despite a good showing from the team, the game ended in a goalless draw at the end of the 90 minutes at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It was the third straight game Hearts of Oak had failed to find the back of the net since the start of the Ghana Premier League season.

After the Samartex FC game, Hearts of Oak head coach Martin Koopman refused to accept blame.

Instead, he said his team’s struggles in front of goal can be traced to the Ghana national team.

He is of the view that Ghana has a challenge with wingers and strikers when it comes to football.

Today, the coach and his players have resumed training to prepare for the next game in the Ghana Premier League.

Next weekend, the Phobians will take on Gold Stars in Bibiani.
