Hearts of Oak to snub participation in 2019 President’s cup against Asante Kotoko

Published on: 13 August 2019

Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak is set to announce their withdrawal from the 2019 edition of the President Cup, footballghana.com can report.

The capital city-based club has been billed to face their bitterest rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the prestigious annual cup match following an announcement by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

Credible sources have, however, revealed that the management of the Rainbow boys has decided to snub the cup match and will not be locking horns with the Porcupine Warriors.

The decision according to report is because the Phobians do not believe they will have enough time to prepare for the encounter, having recently resumed training after breaking for 5 weeks.

An official announcement is expected to be communicated to GHALCA in the coming days for them to select a different opponent for the Reds.
