Hearts of Oak win Amankuma Festival Cup after Medeama SC victory

Hearts of Oak defeated Medeama SC to clinched the 2018 Amankuna Festival celebration trophy at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park Park on Sunday. 

The Phobians were 3-1 winners over the Yellow and Mauves in a highly competitive friendly game which played to mark the 2018 Amankuna Festival in Tarkwa.

Selassie Bakai's brace and a first half strike from Joseph Esso ensured coach Kim Grant secured his first silver for the club.

Joseph Esso opened the scoring for the Accra based side on the 38th minute via the spot.

Medeama SC levelled with a superb strike after the Selassie Bakai had doubled the score on the 75th minute of the game.

Bakai registered his second goal of the day with a brilliant finish in the dying embers of the match.

The match was Kim Grant’s first competitive game since he assumed office on December 1 as the head coach and the Director of football for Hearts Of Oak.
