Hearts of Oak wishes Ayi, Denkyi well ahead of start of CAF U-23 AFCON

Accra Hearts of Oak has wished goalkeeper Richard Ayi and defender William Denkyi all the best ahead of their 2019 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament where they will be representing the Black Meteors.

The pair who play their club football for the Phobians are part of the final squad named by Ghana head coach Ibrahim Tanko for the crucial upcoming 8-nation tournament.

“Richmond Ayi and William Dankyi are in Egypt with the Black Meteors team for this year’s U23 AFCON. Everyone at Hearts Of Oak wishes them well as the tournament kicks off on 8th of November”, a post on Hearts of Oak’s official Twitter handle shared.

The West Africans have been pitted in Group A where they are set to come up against host nation Egypt, Mali, and Cameroon.

The Meteors will play their first match of the tournament on November 8, 2019, against Cameroon at the Cairo International Stadium.

Richmond Ayi and William Denkyi have 3 days to impress Ibrahim Tanko in training to ensure they earn a starting place in the team on the matchday.
