Hearts old players party at club Secretariat

Accra Hearts of Oak Old Players Association, AHOOPA, threw a party to usher in the new year and take stock of the past year at the club's Secretariat on Saturday, 11th February, 2017.

The legends and cult heroes of Accra Hearts of Oak from the not-too-distant past converged at the club's premises for the get-together party.

Living legends Abeka "Why Worry" Ankrah, Evans Aryeequaye, Tanko Ayuba, Ali Jarra, Peter Lamptey,Joe Quarcoe, Seth Wilson, James Commey-Bortsie, Thomas Otenkorang, Ashitey Armah, Samuel Suppey, Kwabena Tetteh-Chandu, Gedo Odamtten, Justice Ampah, Awei, Karl Lokko, Dan Tettevi, and a host of others who titillated Hearts fans down the years, were present at the event.

The Vice President of AHOOPA Commey-Bortsie, said: "We have been doing this over the years and the purpose is to remind our members that AHOOPA is functioning and it is open for all former players of the club.

"Secondly, we used the get-together event to take stock of some of the things that happened to our members and the group itself, and also to come out with ways to approach the future.

"We are one big family and coming together under one roof to celebrate is a way of keeping and growing the relationship between us."

Some of the new players - Alex Kouami and Agbashie Dotse - signed by the club also got a chance to meet the great heroes of yesteryears and quite impressively, they were given an education about the name Accra Hearts of Oak.

Hearts National Chapters Committee Public Relations Officer, Sunsum Busunburu and Greater Accra Regional Chapters Committee member Christian Laryea Odamtten were also in attendance.
