Nine players of Accra Hearts of Oak including their skipper, Robin Gnagne could be on their way out as the club get set to appraise their performance before handing them new deals.

Others to be affected included Sabahn Laryea, Ashitey Ollenu and Owusu Bempah.

A source close to the Phobian management outfit, the Strategic Committee told the Graphic Sports yesterday that the decision formed part of management’s bid to restructure the playing body to conform with future demands.

He explained that the players involved were those whose contracts expired at the end of the season and would be considered for renewal.

But this time around there would not be an automatic renewal as each of them would be considered after a thorough appraisal.

According him the move is aimed at restructuring the playing body to ensure that each player lives up to expectation.

“We are reviewing the capacity and performance of each player in the team and I can assure you that nine players will be on their way out at the end of the season because their contracts have ended.

“The decision to retain them will depend on the final appraisal by the coach.

"We shall keep those that we have to keep and release those, who are not pulling their weight. Probably they will do better somewhere why not”, he stated.
