Accra Hearts of Oak are close to confirming interim coach, Seth Hoffman, after an unsuccessful attempt at landing the signature of a preferred top-notch choice.

The Rainbow club were reported to have turned their attention to the European market to scout for a coach, but after failing in that effort, they resorted to the local market for solution, while Hoffman was drafted as a stop-gap measure.

Having assessed the performance of the ex-Hearts of Lions gaffer, the club seem ready to hand Hoffman full responsibility.

A source close to the club confirmed to the Graphic Sports yesterday that the board and management were satisfied with his performance so far, and they were ready to make him the substantive coach.

Hoffman has been in charge of the club since Henry Wellington was fired last June, for poor performance and has been credited for the sudden transformation of the club which has led to their 3-0 win against Bechem United and 2-0 victory over Liberty Professionals in a friendly last week.

Graphic Sports source indicated that the coach’s philosophy sits well with the club and barren any last minute hitches, the former Wa All Stars coach would be given the green light to take charge of the club.

Hoffman who has also had a stint with Heart of Lions and deputised for Wellington during preseason last year, and sources say Togbe Afede XIV, board chairman of the club is eager to see the coach take full responsibility.

The source also confirmed that some discussions had gone on among members of the board who have given their full blessing to the idea of maintaining the ex-Auroras coach due to the transformation he has introduced to the team.

“I think what the team would do now would be to scout for a technical director to support Hoffman but he would be confirmed as the head coach” the source hinted.
