Hearts should stop living in the past - Mohammed Polo

Published on: 08 November 2018

Former Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Polo has launched a scathing attack on his former club stating that they don't need a new logo but proper structures to see the club make a meaningful impact both locally and internationally.

On Tuesday, Accra Hearts of Oak unveiled their new brand identity ahead of their 107th-anniversary celebrations on November 11, 2018.

However, the ex-Ghana international stressed that Hearts of Oak management should see football as a business and stop living in their past glories rather try to build the club with modern trends.

“What Hearts of Oak need at this moment is not about changing logos but to concentrate on building the structures that will sustain the team in the long term," he told Metro Fm in Kumasi.

“Hearts of Oak need to put proper structures in place and stop talking about theories."

“In times past players were willing to join Hearts of Oak because of the love they had for the team but now they need something extra to join the team."

He added, “Hearts management should see football as business and put the proper structures in place.

“Hearts should stop living in the past and move with the modern trends of management like clubs such as Dreams FC and Inter Allies are doing."
