Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Malik Akowuah has denied puffing Shisha despite images of himself with two other friends circulating on social media showing them enjoying the product.
Midfielder Malik Akowuah drew the wrath of many Accra Hearts of Oak fans who were furious on seeing the images of one of their most expensive signings in the act of smoking.
Akowuah joined the phobians from Medeama SC but has failed to meet the expecitations of the fans following his incredible performances with the Mauves and Yellow two seasons ago.
The 27 year old was one of the flops in the MTN FA Cup finals but with reports of images circulating all around showing him puffing Shisha, he has come out to refute the claims.
"I didn't know what it was so was only taking a look at a friend's party," Akowuah told Nhyira FM on Tuesday.
The midfielder establiahed his ignorance of the product and added he was just having fun.
The Accra based club is on break following a disappointing season.
But the players are expected to return in some feway weeks time to begin preseason.
