Following his great performance in the Belgian top-flight league last weekend, Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil has been nominated to the EA Sports FIFA Team of the Week.
The 24-year-old contributed two assists as Genk overcame a 1–0 deficit to overcome Club Brugge 3–1.
Club Brugge's Hans Vanaken scored the game's first goal in the 21st minute. The score was leveled, though, by Paintsil's assist for Carlos Cuesta's goal in the 25th minute.
The Black Stars winger then came forward to help Genk score a goal in the 67th minute, making the score 2-1. Then, in the 81st minute, Bryan Heynen scored to end the game.
Paintsil has been a key player for Genk this season, delivering six goals and also providing eight assists in 16 appearances. His performance in last weekend's match was particularly impressive, earning him a spot in the EA Sports FIFA 23 Team of the Week.
