Finland-based Evans Mensah has shared that he is hoping to enjoy a good tournament with the Black Meteors at the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The winger plays his club football with HJK and has earned a call-up to represent the Ghana U23 team who will be competing in Egypt for continental glory as well as qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Speaking in an interview with Journalists after the team’s training in Cairo on Wednesday evening, Evans Mensah says he has received a lot of offers from clubs but is hoping to make a final decision after the tournament.
He shared, “Already many teams have expressed interest in me and this tournament will determine. I strongly believe that God does things in his own way. All the time I get offers but my team does not want me to go.
“I feel God has something good for me through this tournament so I have to play all my heart out for the nation and also for myself so that after the tournament something great will come”, the highly-rated midfielder said.
He added, “As far as we have come, we are coming to give our all in all because me for instance, I know the reason why I came from Finland so I am praying God will give us strength for the battle and we see what happens”.
Before arriving for national team duties, Evans Mensah had bagged seven goals in 21 games for his HJK side who are seeking for League glory at the end of the 2019/2020 season.
