Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi is set for new £50k-a-week contract just six months after signing his previous deal.

According to theDaily Mail, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder is in line for talks with the clubabout a new and improved deal after becoming established in the first-team at the Emirates.

Back in April the Nigerian international signed his current £25k-a-week deal after a rise that saw him become an integral part of the first team at a tender age.

Iwobi has featured seven times for Arsene Wenger's side this season making appearances in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

His form has even seen him keep the likes of Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lucas Perez on the bench during the early stages of the season.

He appears to have made a seamless transition from hot academy prospect to the starting XI and his versatility among an array of attacking positions has made him a valuable asset to the Arsenal side this term.

Iwobi scored two goals in his first two starts for the Gunners last term with strikes against both Everton and Watford, but his yet to hit the back of the net so far this term.

Despite representing England at U16, 17 and 18 level, Iwobi has won sixNigerian caps and despite playing just 28 times for the Arsenal first team has alreadyseen his stock rise at a meteoric rate.

The youngster is one of several emerging talents in North London and Wenger's notorious faith in youth may well see others follow suit.
