Gonzalo Higuain has had an eventful 2016/17 campaign so far, to say the least.
The ex-Napoli striker drew criticism from fans of the Naples club after he completed a £75m switch to Juventus last summer, before having to work extraordinarily hard in training to lose the spare tyre that he appeared to be lugging around with him.
Now the 29-year-old has landed himself in hot water after Italian model and fencer Antonella Fiordelisi accused the Argentina international of being "sick" for asking for "pictures of my arse" after she leaked a Whatsapp conversation between the pair:
The 18-year-old later took to Twitter to say: "Higuain, he asks for pictures of my arse on Twitter... he's sick!" before opting to delete the tweet in question.
Fiordelisi then took to her official Facebook page to apologise for leaking the conversation and calling Higuain out over his comments, no doubt after being told that she'd potentially receive abuse. You know, given how football fans sometimes react to their favourite stars being attacked:
All in all, a very strange sequence of events!
