Huddersfield fall to German second division side Sandhausen

Premier League newcomers Huddersfield have succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to 2.Bundesliga side SV Sandhausen at BWT Stadion.

The defeat in Germany has halted the winning start of David Wagner's men in the pre-season ahead of their debut campaign in Premier League.

Sandhausen side scored the opening two goals in the game before Tom Ince scored the opener for the Terriers in the 63rd minute after some good football by substitute Rajiv van La Parra in the build-up.

However, within seven minutes, the German side restored their two-goal cushion from the penalty spot. Steve Mounie scored a bullet header on the 78th minute to keep the tie alive until the final whistle, but in the end, the Germans managed to hold out for a win.
