Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy is set to start for the Australian national team against Syria on Thursday.

Australia will be squaring off against the Syrian national team for the first leg of the fourth round World Cup qualifiers in Malacca, Malaysia on Thursday.

It goes without saying that the match is of very high importance for Australia and Mooy will be the main man pulling the strings from midfield for the Socceroos.

The Australian national team's official website predicts that the Town man will start in central midfield in a 3-4-3 system, claiming he is: "Too good not to play as Australia search for a winning platform ahead of the second leg in Sydney. Expect him to take all corners and set pieces too."
