Hudson-Odoi is set to play for Chelsea’s U-23 squad in its PL2 match on Friday against Brighton and Hove Albion U-23s at Stamford Bridge.
The 18-year-old, who resumed full training last month, could just be a few weeks away from making a long-awaited return this season.
He tore his Achilles tendon on April 22 in a draw with Burnley and has been on the sidelines five months.
However, over the past few weeks, he has recovered incredibly fast from the injury.
The highly-rated forward has been posting photos of his recovery featuring his manager, Frank Lampard, taking part in a drill on the practice field.
A fully-fit Hudson-Odoi is expected to get some minutes for Chelsea this season.
Chelsea will be boosted by the return of Hudson-Odoi and there will be plenty of time to ease him back and get him ready for the 2020-2021 campaign.
