Aduana Stars skipper Yahaya Mohammed claims he advised coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi to move into the stands in their humiliating 6-0 defeat to Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the final CAF Confederations Cup game.

Yatsuhashi, 49, was seen in the stands for the second half of the match on Wednesday.

His absence from the touchline confirmed reports of a rift between him and management members of the club.

Yahaya Mohammed, who is the captain the side says he convinced Japanese-American trainer to move into the stands to avert more trouble.

“I advised coach Kenichi to sit in the stands because I realized there was a misunderstanding between him and some management members during halftime and he listened to me as his captain,” he told Fox FM.

Aduana Stars failed to advance to the next stage of the competition as they finished at the foot of their group with 4 points.

The end of their campaign also marked the end to the brief stint of Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
