Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakour, has revealed that he almost got divorced for using their children's school fees to sponsor the club.

According to him, he had to cover the club's travel expenses for a competition, which led him to pay the school fees.

Speaking to Muftawu Nabila on Joy News, the veteran football administrator and politician noted that this decision caused significant tension in his marriage, almost leading to divorce.

“I paid for the tickets and travel expenses of the team for a competition. I used my kids' school fees to make those payments, and my wife almost divorced me,” he said.

He added that the issue was resolved amicably, preserving their marriage.

Zakour, who served at Hearts of Oak for six years is seen as one of the most successful club Chief Executive Officers in the history of Ghana football.

The Pinnacle of his achievement was in the year 2000 when the club won the Ghana Premier League, The Ghana FA Cup, the Africa CAF Champions League and the Africa Super Cup Zakour, who also served as Chairman of Great Olympics before joining Hearts of Oak.
