I am sad with the postponement of the GPL – Deputy Sports Minister

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has expressed his disappointment about the postponement of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season.

The launch of the 2017/18 GPL campaign was brought to a halt after Accra Great Olympics served the country’s football governing body with a court injunction in a protest against Bechem United for fielding an unqualified player in matchday 30.

Due to the court injunction served, the organizers of the Premier League have postponed the start of the Premier League but the Ketu North Member of Parliament says he is not happy with the court injunction served by Great Olympics.

“I am sad with the court injunction that has been served to the FA,” he told Agoo TV.

“These things do not help in the development of our local league. I know the issue is in court but I will say the proper steps must be taken to ensure the right thing is being done.

“We have discussed issues with the FA on how to develop the local league but personally I am not happy with the court injunction served to the Ghana Football Association,” he added.
