Hungary based Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong has painfully shared that he could not travel back home for his sister’s funeral due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus pandemic that wrecked the world.
Frimpong, who ply his trade with Ferencvárosi in Hungary disclosed he lost two of this year, one dying as a result of covid-19.
He indicated he was raised by his sisters following the death of his mum at age 4.
Despite expressing worry about the demise of his sisters the devoted Christian believe anything that happen is by the will of God.
“My sisters are only from above… They died this year, at the age of forty-three and forty-two, respectively. One of them was in a coronavirus, and unfortunately I couldn't go home for their funeral due to the epidemic," he told Bunteto.com in an emotional interview.
"Whatever the plague, I believe in God one hundred percent. Sometimes it has to be hard, spiritually tough, but I keep my faith in all circumstances” he said.
Frimpong joined the Hungary giants three seasons ago from Red Star Belgrade and has already won the league twice.
He made history with the club after helping them reach the group stages of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 25 years.
