Novi Pazar defender Ebenezer Annan has expressed some sort of shock to earn a Black Stars call-up so soon.

The 21-year-old, who is on loan at the Serbia top flight club from Serie A side Bologna, was a late addition to Otto Addo’s squad for the two friendlies against Uganda and Nigeria.

Annan was brought on in the second half during the 2-1 defeat to Nigeria and was handed a starting role in the 2-2 draw against Nigeria.

He gave a good account of himself in the two games and made a case for his possible selection in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

“I was very happy when I received the call-up. In my mind, I was like, finally they’ve noticed my performances,” Annan said as quoted by GhanaSoccernet.

“When I joined Novi Pazar, my plan and effort was to do my best. I have always believed that I will play for the national team, but I didn’t expect it to come this soon.”
