I do not depend on a few players - Hearts of Oak coach Boadu lauds squad depth

Following their 3-0 victory over Medeama in the MTN FA Cup semi-final, coach Samuel Boadu was quick to praise his squad’s depth for the win on Sunday.

The win sees the Phobians progress to the finals of the MTN FA Cup.

Benjamin Afutu opened the scoring with a towering header after connecting a cross from Isaac Mensah in the 12th minute.

Isaac Mensah later added the second before Daniel Barnieh converted from the spot to seal the win.

“I do not depend on a few players. I build around all the players and so, if one player is not available, then the replacement will be better than the starter," he said in his post-match interview.

"The match, in itself, was a good one. In the first half, Medeama tried to confuse us with their game plan but we used our tactics to get all the three goals."

Hearts of Oak will face 1993 champions Ashanti Gold in the final at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.
