Seydou Zerbo says he feels honored and proud to be the new Asante Kotoko head coach.

The Burkinabe trainer has been confirmed as the new coach gaffer for the Ghan Premier League champions on a one-year deal with an option of renewal.

Zerbo replaced Prosper Narteh Ogum who left the club after just a season in charge.

Speaking ahead of their second leg tie of the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Kadiogo, Zerbo revealed that he feels excited and honored to take charge of the club.

“It’s a pleasure for me to be here because ever since I was young, I heard the name of Asante Kotoko and I must say I am very proud to be here, but the thanks go to the management and the supporters for having me here," he told the press on Friday.

Asante Kotoko recorded a win in the first leg against the Burkinabe side in Benin on Monday.

The winner of the two-legged tie will face the winner of the game between Gaborone United Sporting Club and AS Vita Club of DR Congo in the next round of the competition.
